Our skin ages for many reasons but here are some of the main causes we need to be aware of:

- Decreased water content of the S. Corneum
- Gradual loss of estrogen which results in less blood flow to the skin, reduced nutrient and oxygen supply to the cells, slowing down of epidermal cell turnover and reduced fibroblast numbers (therefore decreased GAG, collagen and elastin production).

Plant estrogens or phytoestrogens are a safe way of gently replacing the supply of this important hormone to the areas that most need it.
